A client contacted me and asked if I would be interested in painting stars on the ceiling over his newly built indoor swimming pool. After meeting him and seeing the space I thought a mural to cover the walls would be more effective in creating a mood. (The only time you would see the stars is when you float on your back in the pool.)
He said he would be interested in seeing what I had in mind, so I composed a few sketches taking the measurements of the space and photoshopping a soft landscape/sunset into the background. He did ask that I please keep the doorway trim the way it was... purple with a gold highlight.
He loved the ideas I presented and after a few tweaks in color the project started.

At the beginning of the job the pool was covered with temporary deck. As you will notice in the pictures below, the deck is removed during the project, the ceiling is repainted to match the walls and the floor is eventually painted white.
The effect is very calming.

These last 3 images are of a hutch that was originally painted bright yellow. The client asked me refinish it to blend into the room as he need some storage. I stripped the hutch and antiqued it using the colors of the room.
